A valve disc is a device used to control fluid flow, typically consisting of a valve body and a valve disc component. Valve discs can be classified into various types based on their structure and application.
Ball valve discs: These feature a simple structure, offer convenient opening and closing, and have a long service life. They are typically suitable for applications involving high temperatures, high pressures, or highly corrosive media.
Gate valve discs: These operate primarily by using the rotation of the valve stem to drive the disc up and down, thereby controlling fluid flow. They are suitable for applications involving high pressure or temperature differentials and offer excellent sealing performance.
Butterfly valve discs: Also known as rotary valve discs, these consist of a valve body, a valve vane (or disc), and a valve shaft. They are suitable for controlling medium flow and regulating flow rates and pressures within pipelines.
Globe valve discs: These are primarily used to shut off fluid flow; they maintain good sealing performance even when the medium contains impurities. While typically manually operated, they can also be configured for electric operation.
